I am an artist, editor and writer living in London.
I work with what's around me, things that have caught my eye. This could be a place, an effect of light, or details such as reflections in a window or a bundle of litter. It may be some time before I use a particular motif, so memory also plays a part. The paintings evolve on the canvas through a process of arranging, adding and covering up elements and through alternating layers of saturated and muted colour. Within these simple structures, I let colour work in unexpected ways, hoping to create images that have a specific sense of light and familiarity.
